Welcome to Egypt!

I (Iolana) and Kaylin came here on a Learning Brave tour in 2022. We saw, learned, and experienced so much.

I fully recommend booking tours with Learning Brave because:

  1. He was the best high school teacher I ever had!
  2. I have been on 2 of his tours and loved every single one!
  3. Tours are well thought out and communicated in advance.

On this one-week tour of Egypt, we went to 3 different places: Cairo, Luxor, and the Red Sea.

Now, this pyramid is actually smack dab next to Cairo City proper. If I were to turn around in that photo, you’d see a full city skyline.

The Sphinx is interesting; it was created as some kind of bragging rights monument. When a visiting dignitary arrived, they would be greeted by the massive statue — a not-so-subtle flex.

Ok, here are some photos of various sites — the names all kind of blended together. We saw like 5–6 different places in a day!

As a note to readers: I will update this as soon as I rewatch the vids and remember everything lol. — Iolana

Kaylin at the Pillars

Here Kaylin is sitting next to mud bricks used as scaffolding to build the biggest wall ever! The craftsmanship is incredible. (Think Hall of the Kings with the pillars.)

I love this — this wall depicts the first Excel spreadsheet! It shows the stock of their storage compartments and cellars. If I remember correctly, “I” is 1, and it reads like tally marks.
